// who we are

A young studio, serious about the craft.

Brackets is a small studio out of Zagreb. We design interactive, visually stunning websites — considered, luxurious, the kind that get remembered. We're early, and we say so honestly, but we hold the craft to a standard most older studios quietly abandoned.

/ 01 — meaning
// the name

What "between the brackets" means now.

In code, brackets hold the real work — everything that actually executes lives between them. That was always the idea. But we've come to read it differently.

The braces aren't just where logic runs anymore. They're a frame — a reliquary. The space between them is where we render the thing that makes you stop scrolling: the silver form turning in real time, the reveal that lands a half-second later than you expect, the world that feels rendered rather than assembled.

One studio holds the vision from the open { to the close } — art direction, design, motion, and the world around it. Code is the material we shape it in, not the product we sell.

We stopped building sites that work, and started building sites you remember.

/ 02 — approach
// how we work

Four principles, no seams.

{ 01 }

Designers, not developers.

Code is the material we work in, not the product we sell. The same hands that draw a thing shape how it moves and breathes — so the art direction is never translated, watered down, or lost. We're artists; the browser is just our canvas.

{ 02 }

Motion is not decoration.

Every animation earns its place: anticipation, weight, easing. We layer small, believable movements instead of one loud one. Nothing is random.

{ 03 }

60fps or it doesn't ship.

Maximalism, not bloat. Hand-coded, buildless, lazy-loaded, GPU-friendly — and it honours reduced-motion. Fast is part of the aesthetic.

{ 04 }

Plainly, no jargon.

No walls of buzzwords, no mystery invoices. You'll always know what's happening and why. Skill first — we'd rather show you than tell you.

/ 03 — why
// why we started

A website can be an object.

Most of the web is a commodity — a template filled in and forgotten. We'd rather make a website the way you'd make an object: sculptural, cinematic, alive, worth lingering in. It's a slower, more luxurious way to work, and it's the only standard we hold — whether the brief is intimate or enormous.
