Zrno — specialty coffee.
A small coffee bar in Zagreb's Trešnjevka — or it would be. Zrno doesn't exist: we wrote the brief ourselves, then answered it honestly. One page that sells the room, the menu and the morning.
The brief
Zrno — the smallest unit of something good. We wrote the brief the way a good café would: a specialty bar that needs the three things any café site is opened for — what it's like, what's on the menu, when it's open — and that wants to look like a page from a magazine rather than a template.
What we made
An editorial collage: photographs at deliberately different sizes, generous space, and typography carrying most of the weight. Scribbles — a coffee bean, a sprig, a hand-drawn photo frame — are SVG paths drawn in code: sharp at any size, zero image weight. Scroll reveals and gentle parallax in ~40 lines of plain JavaScript. No framework, no build step.
This is field work: the register where we proved the craft before the studio turned toward flagship builds. It reads like a magazine and loads like a text file.
